Overview

Hankyu Travel needed its premium booking experience — including the Royal Collection — to match the level of care its human concierges provide. We built TabiAI, a conversational AI concierge that replaces static forms with natural dialogue, generates personalized itineraries in real time, and stays with travelers from first inspiration through in-trip navigation.

CHALLENGES

Generic booking forms couldn't carry a premium brand.

Traditional booking portals rely on isolated forms and delayed email quotes that react only once a customer manually searches. For a brand where premium perception is the baseline, that gap compounds quietly with every interaction.

Families and couples had no shared way to agree on an itinerary, and lost bookings due to difficult group planning chipped away at conversions.

The Approach

Replace the form with a conversation.

The starting point was Hankyu's own standard: every touchpoint had to feel as considered as a human concierge. That meant retiring static forms in favor of a conversational engine that extracts the details it needs — destination, budget, passenger count — through natural dialogue, using strict output rules so the AI never breaks the interface or invents a location.

From there, the experience had to extend past the point of booking. TabiAI brings itineraries to life with real imagery and interactive maps, lets groups co-edit a plan from separate devices in real time, and stays active in-trip, watching for weather and rerouting travelers before a disruption becomes a problem.
